Hairloss : Trichologist

What Are Trichologists and How Can They Help With Hairloss?

Trichologists are hair and scalp specialists but are not medically qualified doctors. Trichologists can either recommend prescription treatments for hairloss, formulate their own or simply give you advice on what over-the-counter treatments you should be using to treat whatever hair or scalp problem you have. A trichologist simply takes care of all your hair and scalp problems in the same way that a dermatologist looks after your skin.

Are trichologists expensive? It all depends on what services they're providing you with. It's smart to budget for at least $50 - $150 per month for whatever treatment you might get from them - this is on the low side of pricing scales.

As with everything in life you can find good and bad trichologists. You can find a hopeless family doctor and trichologists are no different. Some of these guys work as trichologists because they truly care about hair and scalpe problems but some of them are in it just to make a quick buck from people with different types of hairloss.

Word-of-mouth referrals are a great idea when finding a trichologist so look for friends or friends-of-friends who have used a good trichologist. Failing that get a referral from your family doctor - just to make sure that you're not going to wind up visiting some crook who's only interest is parting you from your hard earned cash.

Can trichologists cure all your hairloss problems? Nope but they can give you the best possible advice on what type of hairloss you have and how to go about treating it properly.
